New Course: Euripides, the Innovator, in Classical Drama

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at USM will offer "Euripides, the Innovator, in Classical Drama" through Zoom on Friday mornings from March 19 to May 7.

Join us to discuss the plays by Euripides set before, during, and after the Trojan War and his plays on other heroic, semi-heroic, or tragic figures. You may know of Helen and Paris, but you may be less familiar with Iphigeneia and Rhesus. Relevant art, if possible.

About the Instructor

Evy Newlyn is Professor Emerita of English from the State University of New York. After earning her PhD in English from Syracuse University, she taught at universities in Virginia, Maine, and New York. Her special interests are classical literature, medieval literature, and cats.
