Gold LEAF Institute: License to Browse Safely while you Scroll

Updated: Apr 17

On April 9, 2026, Gold LEAF Institute offered a 2 session digital hybrid class.

GLI hosted A License to Browse: Safety While You Scroll, presented by Tyler Provencher, Program Coordinator for the Greater Franklin Digital Literacy Program in Farmington, Maine.

The first session, Tyler focused on built-in safety features and settings for smartphones, laptops, and tablets, while also guiding participants through the expansive landscape of the internet, smart devices, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence.

I read the article and it explains how the Gold LEAF Institute’s “License to Browse Safely” program helps people understand safe internet use, including how to scroll wisely, avoid harmful content, and protect personal information online. Learning safe browsing habits is important as more people rely on digital spaces daily.  I remember during a busy study period I felt overwhelmed, so I used online course takers support to stay on track. That experience showed me how guidance can make learning safer and easier.
