DNA and Wellness

We are more health conscious than ever; we call it Wellness or Well-being. Since the 60’s and 70’s research has taught us to rethink our health in a very different way. What do we really know about our own Wellness and Well-being? What exactly is Wellness and Well-being? Which factors help us maintain overall Wellness and Well-being? And, can DNA give us clues about managing our own Wellness and Well-being? There is a lot to learn!

On October 19, 2022 Lewiston Auburn Senior College will be presenting a ‘Food for Thought’ discussion on this important topic.

Joel Buckman has done classes and short workshops on the medical aspects and benefits of cannabis for us in the past. But this will be a session, free and open to the public, teaching participants about the benefits of understanding and managing our Wellness and Well-being from a scientific yet practical perspective – specifically for Active Adults and Senior Citizens.

Joel graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Boston University. He has been a leading technology management consultant, founded YourTechnologySolutions, Inc. while working at Harvard Business School and has been an adjunct Instructor at ITT Technical Institute. In 2013 he founded Strain Doctor LLC, a medicinal cannabis company located in Maine. And in 2019, also based in Maine, he founded MatureReLeafTM, a consumer-focused product-based Wellness and Well-being company geared towards helping the Active Adult and Senior Citizen achieve overall Wellness and Well-being. Since 2005, during the summer Joel has enjoyed being a NASCAR stock car instructor for Stockcar Racing Experience at the Pocono Raceway in PA.
