Week 1: Austin Wilkins Room, Viles Arboretum Weeks 2 & 3: Viles Arboretum fieldwork The Viles Arboretum is located at 153 Hospital St., Augusta ME. A summer course to learn about the Monarch butterfly life cycle and anatomy, and the interaction between butterflies and milkweeds of Maine through lecture, art, and field exploration. The first classroom session will be primarily a PowerPoint presentation. The following two sessions will be fieldwork – to locate, identify, and sketch the lifecycle of the Monarch, milkweed, and other encountered flora/fauna. Viles Arboretum website
How to register for classes:
Click on the following link to the UMASC News & Activities page.
Select the class you’re interested in.
Next, click on the blue “Add to Cart” button.
The blue “View Cart” button appears. Click on it.
Ignore the information about membership.
Then, click on the blue “Proceed to Checkout” button.
Fill in the required information.
You will notice a box under “Additional Information.” Write the name of your senior college here (if you are a senior college member).
Check the appropriate box under “Covid Information.”
Click on “Place Order.”
You are registered! You will receive an email confirming your registration.
